Finalizing Artistic Training Courses for Woman in Need

The Association concluded four training courses in arts, drawing and painting on copper and glass as well as wood, the target group was one hundred needy woman of the city of Nablus aged between 20-40 who have been negatively affected by the current political situation, the training course aimed to qualify housewives, widows and families of detainees to practice useful profession that might help them financially in such hard economical crises. The Association concentrated on woman who has potentials for such project. The program of each of the training courses included sixty training hour, the Association tried o pick up the best fifteen woman who got the highest evaluation to attend an advanced training course in order to encourage them to produce their own paintings and sell it in the local market and open small workshops for their small individual projects and provide it with the needed equipments hoping to improve the project into wider one where the product could be sold outside, this, if happens, will empower the steadfastness of the Palestinian woman. Muhammad Jaber, Instructor at the Fine Arts Faculty of An-Najah National University and the trainer of the four courses said that these training courses had its psychological and economical impact on the participants who felt that they could improve their psychological health while they are producing something useful and artistic, this had been shown through their painting that presented their hopes and willingness to continue getting more training, not forgetting the financial aspect of these efforts, the economical situation of those woman in need might get better if they find ways to market their products, either in the local market or out side. He added that those training courses were considered as a good opportunity for them to become to know each other and work together to improve their conditions, Mr. Jaber recommended more courses for the woman in need in the city and its refugee camps and demanded for an establishment of a program that takes care of such projects in order to reserve the Palestinian heritage and culture.
