Palestinian academics and lawyers criticized the approved laws by the Palestinian Authority and demanded for an evaluation of such laws that don’t meet the needs of the community; this comes during a workshop organized by Hawwa Center for Culture and Arts, lawyers and academics attended this workshop in order to find solutions and recommendations for such policy that approves the non urgent laws and ignored the urgent ones such as the law of renting.
Participants confirmed the necessity of getting a united Palestinian law in the both parts of Palestine, Gaza Strip and West Bank, more than thirty five laws were approved since the establishment of the Palestinian Authority in 1993, Many of these laws were not meeting the needs of the Palestinian community and its priorities, many other laws were copied from other countries without upgrading them, this led to many mistakes, the quick decisions and hurry were behind such fatal mistakes, some of these laws are contradicting each other.
Conferencing participants said that it is still possible to overcome such problems if officials listen to the experts recommendations.
